For reals this time...

Ok, so I have never been good at keeping a diary or a journal.  When I had to do it for English classes during the summer, I usually spent the last week of my vacation making up entries for the whole summer, instead of doing them as I went along.  So maybe it's a new year's resolution or maybe it's because my sister is moving to the bay area, but I am going to really try to update this thing more often.

I started a new job about a month ago, working at a skilled nursing facility down here in San Diego.  So far I am loving it!  It's about as far away from preschool speech therapy than you can get, and I am okay with that!  I also just moved into a new house here and got out of the bad neighbor situation at the old place.  This new house is awesome!!  It has a wonderful view of the bay, the ocean, and the lights of san diego.  Oh yeah, and a wonderful view of Sea World fireworks from the deck!!  I can't wait till summer nights for fireworks every night!  :) Let's see....what else.  Christmas was great and so was New Years.  Mychal, my roommie, treated me to Disneyland for a wonderful Christmas present!  It was sooo much fun!  The weekend after New Years is a great time to go.  Hardly any lines at all. The longest was like 40 minutes for Space Mountain and the rest were under 20.  Ok.  Here's some pictures to go along with things. :) They're kinda all mixed up, but you get the idea!

Changes

Phew! ok, I'm back to blogging! I'm really going to try and stay somewhat on top of things this time. I need a new name for this blog too, since sadly, I am no longer a college girl.... I'm now a working woman! :) And I'm living in beautiful Ocean Beach, Ca. It's a tough life down here! ;)

A New Year!

It's been over a year since I posted last! That went really fast! Let's see, what's been going on since then.....I'm now in my second year of grad school here in Chico, and just a little over two months from graduating! I can't believe how fast it's gone. So now I'm in the process of an internship, classes, diagnostics, homework, studying, projects, and job hunting. This semester I am living out of my day planner, something I have never been able to do before. But if I don't do it, I know I will forget something. And on top of all of that, I have been letting the housework go and have spent the weekend doing LOADS of laundry and scrubbing floors. fun....but it feels kind of like spring cleaning time, since the weather has been so nice and the sun is out. =) Well, I am going to go back to cleaning, but I will post again. And I am looking for my camera usb cord so I can upload some pictures again. Bye for now!

Wow! It has been a long time since I posted anything! So! Here it goes! I'll use the pictures to help tell some of the highlights that have been going on since the last post! First! Congratulations to Brett and Erin on their new addition to their family! They had a baby boy this week! A beautiful baby boy! Here's a pic from Erin's baby shower. Mom and Dad have some cute pics of him on their pages..... Congrats guys!

Ok, and Super Bowl sunday was my birthday! What a great day to have a birthday! Everybody was having a party!

This is the beautiful bedding set I got.

And the cute kitchen rug! Thanks Mom and Dad!And these are the beautiful flowers Ben got me!

Also, when we had all that wild weather, a bunch of trees fell and power was out all over. Well, about a month after that....it was kinda windy one morning here in Chico, and when I came back from class, this is what I found!
The neighbors tree fell into our yard, taking down the power line with it! The boys next door let me run an extension cord from their house to ours, so I wasn't in complete darkness that night. It was almost two full days before the wiring was fixed, and the city inspected it, and PG&E came and fixed it. They had to run a whole new wire from the pole to the house. It was pretty neat to watch.

And last week, Ben and I went to Tahoe with his family. We all stayed in a cabin, and went sledding down the hills behind the house. It was so much fun! Their was a big storm up there, and it dumped a few feet of snow! It was so beautiful, but made driving kind of difficult! Good thing I had the Jeep!

So, that's what's been going on lately! Hopefully I will post again soon! See ya!

Fall

So, I've decided that the best thing about having a house is the yard and the worst is.....having a yard. lol. not really, I love having a yard and having a place for Harley to run around, but let me tell you, in the fall, the leaves are everywhere! It took me a couple of hours to leaf blow, rake and wheelbarrel out the back and side yard's leaves. I still haven't done the front! But tomorrow, hopefully I can just mow them up in a half an hour. I hope my roommate will do the yardwork over the Christmas break, because I am tired of doing that for awhile! Then it started raining while I was finishing up the yard, and I noticed that half a strand of Christmas lights was out, so I went to unplug it and fix it, and it zapped me! So, I decided that it would be better to wait until it stops raining to fix the lights. yikes! Here's some pictures of the leaf piles. They don't really do it justice though, because they were a lot bigger than they look! The pile in the backyardPile on the side yardBackyard pile again, it was getting dark!

Hello again!

So, it's been awhile since I've updated this, but here I am! School is winding down for the semester, I only have this week and finals week and then I'm out for 5 weeks! yay! We had a week off not too long ago for Thanksgiving, and that was really nice. My grandma came up to spend the holiday with us, and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Everythin turned out great and I made the apple pie. It was pretty good. Last week I put up the Christmas lights at my house in Chico. It was a little scary being out there on the tall ladder, at night, when the legs were sinking in the mud! I didn't fall off though! A fuse has blown a couple of times on one of the strand, but it was an easy fix to get them back up and running. Then this past Saturday my mom, dad and I were in the Woodland Christmas parade walking my dog Harley and my dad's dog Abbey. It was great! Harley had a little elf hat and collar and Abbey had on antlers. She loved all the attention! They looked so cute! Then on Sunday, my sister and her boyfriend Kyle came by the house and we got to visit with them for a few hours. It was a quick visit before they had to fly back to San Diego, but it was great to see them! On Thursday my mom and I bought a huge, beautiful wreath for the little old lady that lives across the street from me. I had never met her before but I always see her out in front of her house. Well, I brought it over to her and introduced myself, told her Merry Christmas and gave her the wreath. Er.....rather, tried to give her the wreath. lol. she wouldn't take it!! She just kept saying it was too much, and to give it to someone else or hang it on my door. So there it hangs! It is beautiful. When I go home for Christmas, I might give it to a convalescent home in town. Oh yeah, and in November, my grandma, mom, sister, and I went to Disneyland! It was so much fun! So, that's what has been going on around here. Hopefully I will post again soon! =)

Sad day for the peacock....

So, I just talked to the people at Oriental Trading Company since my costume has yet to come. She said she was reporting it as lost and crediting my money back! That means no costume! Unless it comes tomorrow and then I think it would be free...? So now I have to find something else by tomorrow! Ah!
