Fall

So, I've decided that the best thing about having a house is the yard and the worst is.....having a yard. lol. not really, I love having a yard and having a place for Harley to run around, but let me tell you, in the fall, the leaves are everywhere! It took me a couple of hours to leaf blow, rake and wheelbarrel out the back and side yard's leaves. I still haven't done the front! But tomorrow, hopefully I can just mow them up in a half an hour. I hope my roommate will do the yardwork over the Christmas break, because I am tired of doing that for awhile! Then it started raining while I was finishing up the yard, and I noticed that half a strand of Christmas lights was out, so I went to unplug it and fix it, and it zapped me! So, I decided that it would be better to wait until it stops raining to fix the lights. yikes! Here's some pictures of the leaf piles. They don't really do it justice though, because they were a lot bigger than they look! The pile in the backyardPile on the side yardBackyard pile again, it was getting dark!

Hello again!

So, it's been awhile since I've updated this, but here I am! School is winding down for the semester, I only have this week and finals week and then I'm out for 5 weeks! yay! We had a week off not too long ago for Thanksgiving, and that was really nice. My grandma came up to spend the holiday with us, and we had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Everythin turned out great and I made the apple pie. It was pretty good. Last week I put up the Christmas lights at my house in Chico. It was a little scary being out there on the tall ladder, at night, when the legs were sinking in the mud! I didn't fall off though! A fuse has blown a couple of times on one of the strand, but it was an easy fix to get them back up and running. Then this past Saturday my mom, dad and I were in the Woodland Christmas parade walking my dog Harley and my dad's dog Abbey. It was great! Harley had a little elf hat and collar and Abbey had on antlers. She loved all the attention! They looked so cute! Then on Sunday, my sister and her boyfriend Kyle came by the house and we got to visit with them for a few hours. It was a quick visit before they had to fly back to San Diego, but it was great to see them! On Thursday my mom and I bought a huge, beautiful wreath for the little old lady that lives across the street from me. I had never met her before but I always see her out in front of her house. Well, I brought it over to her and introduced myself, told her Merry Christmas and gave her the wreath. Er.....rather, tried to give her the wreath. lol. she wouldn't take it!! She just kept saying it was too much, and to give it to someone else or hang it on my door. So there it hangs! It is beautiful. When I go home for Christmas, I might give it to a convalescent home in town. Oh yeah, and in November, my grandma, mom, sister, and I went to Disneyland! It was so much fun! So, that's what has been going on around here. Hopefully I will post again soon! =)

Sad day for the peacock....

So, I just talked to the people at Oriental Trading Company since my costume has yet to come. She said she was reporting it as lost and crediting my money back! That means no costume! Unless it comes tomorrow and then I think it would be free...? So now I have to find something else by tomorrow! Ah!

Girls' Weekend

This past weekend was our girls' weekend. Lindsey and I went to Ali's house in San Leandro and the we went out in San Francisco on Saturday night. We had so much fun! We had a few drinks and some dinner at Ali's and then got ready, (which could have been disastrous since we started drinking before doing our makeup!) Then we RAN to BART and rode into the city. We went to a few bars Ali had scoped out, and then Lindsey and I picked one. lol. Well, it wasn't until we were in the bathroom and Lindsey and I went into the same stall and the whole bathroom started cheering, that we realized we were in a lesbian bar! whoops! Well, that will make for a good story when we're old. lol. Then Sunday I went to a Raider's game with Ben and his family. It was really fun. There would be more pictures but my camera died. Maybe I can scan Ben's pictures when he gets them developed.

Halloween!

So, I decided what I'm going to be for Halloween.........a Peacock! Here's a picture of my costume! I'm debating whether or not I should add real peacock feathers to the tail. Hope it comes in time for Halloween! =)

Weekend

So, this has been a really great weekend. My mom came up to visit me in Chico, and we just had a great time. Saturday we went to the Lavender Festival in Biggs, and even though we almost missed it, we made it just in time to not have to pay for our tickets! lol. They had some beautiful antiques, and we bought a lavender sachet and I got some beautiful gold and amethyst earrings and a cute little knob for my dresser. Then we walked through the fields of lavender. It was so beautiful! Then we headed back into town to do a little shopping at the sidewalk sale, and we realized that a bunch of the parking meters up and down the streets were covered, and you couldn't park there, so we found a street without those and parked. Well, on our way into town, I saw a sign that they were having the Under the Harvest Moon Light Parade! So we staked out a spot on the curb and got some peppermint hot chocolate from Starbucks and watched the parade! It was great! Then today we went back to one of the antique stores downtown and did a little shopping. Such a fun weekend! And next weekend is Ali, Lindsey and my girls weekend at Ali's house! Can't wait! I'll post some pictures soon! =)
